As we gear up for the highly anticipated Working Romania #futureofwork conference, scheduled for March 28 at the Courtyard by Marriott Bucharest Floreasca, Business Review had the opportunity to engage in an insightful conversation with Catalin Nastasoiu, VP Marketing Strategy at Genesis Property. In an era where the dynamics of the workplace are rapidly evolving, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and the well-being of employees, Catalin offers an in-depth look into Genesis Property’s innovative strategies and achievements.

How did Genesis Property’s business evolve in 2023 and what are your expectations for 2024?

For Genesis Property, 2023 represented a remarkable evolution in its operations. We reached an unprecedented level of efficiency and quality, in line with our objectives and those of our partners. We are constantly involved in transforming the way people work and live, with our innovative YUNITY concept becoming the main pillar in this mission.

A notable achievement in the past year was the completion of the second development phase of YUNITY Park, a significant investment of 20 million euros. This phase was marked by the redesign of the campus’s public space as a natural extension of the office, with a focus on social interaction, connection with nature, and long-term sustainability. Today, YUNITY Park represents an innovative mix of experiences, including an urban forest, an outdoor amphitheatre, and flexible workspaces, tailored to the needs and lifestyles of Generation Z and future employees.

In 2024, Genesis Property will continue to provide unique experiences for the people and businesses of YUNITY Park and the West Gate Business District. Priorities include both completing the third phase of the YUNITY Park development and continuing on the path toward the company’s broader sustainability goals. Genesis Property is the first real estate company in Romania to join the UN Global Compact alliance, committing to act responsibly and follow the ten principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.

Sustainability is becoming increasingly important in workspace development. How important are the ESG principles for Genesis Property?

We are fully aware that climate change has become one of the greatest challenges of our time, with far-reaching implications for the real estate industry. We work in partnership with our clients and the communities in which we operate to improve the local environment, from volunteering and supporting green projects to facilitating cleaner transport operations such as cycling and electric vehicles.

At Genesis Property, we are committed to voluntarily and transparently providing information about our activities through an annual report called “Communicating Progress”, a document produced in accordance with the UN Global Compact reporting framework. This commitment proves that we understand the vital role that transparency and open communication play in our shared effort to create a sustainable world.

Join us at the forefront of the #futureofwork at the Working Romania conference on March 28, Courtyard by Marriott Bucharest Floreasca. Register now and be part of the conversation that will define our collective future. Let’s shape the future of work, together!
